Alpine Debuts First Car Audio System To Incorporate
DTS-ES
High-End Line Features DTS Extended Surround and Neo:6
Capability
PR for: DTS Consumer DTS (Digital Theater Systems,
Inc.) (Nasdaq: DTSI) announced today that Alpine has
announced the first DVD-Audio system for the car to
include DTE-ES and Neo:6 surround sound technology.
Part of the prestigious AlpineF#1StatusÔ product
line, the DAI-C990 DVD-Audio player is a transport-only
design that, when matched with the AlpineF#1Status
PXI-H990 audio processor, is able to play superior
DTS multi-channel sound. DTS-ES enables up to
6.1 channels of discrete surround sound, and also
encompasses DTS-ES matrix and DTS Neo:6 capabilities
for a variety of content choices. DTS Neo:6
injects the power of surround sound into any stereo
source material such as MP3 and CDs.
The new AlpineF#1Status system is an addition to
the growing number of car audio units from a variety
of manufacturers that provide DTS Surround Sound.
This year, Acura also introduced the first standard
OEM car audio system to feature DTS 5.1-channel Digital
Surround in the United States: the 2004 Acura TL.
“The consumer electronics industry anticipates
that surround sound systems for the car will contribute
significantly to the widespread adoption of multi-channel
sound amongst consumers,” said Glenn Arentzoff,
Licensing Manager, Emerging Markets at DTS.
“DTS is proud that Alpine, an industry-leading
manufacturer of high performance mobile electronics,
is the first to introduce a DTS-ES-capable unit for
the car, and we will be announcing more DTS-ES products
for the car in the future.”
“Alpine is taking a leadership position in
bringing multi-channel sound to the car,” said
Stephen Witt, Alpine’s Vice President of Brand
Marketing. “By incorporating sophisticated
multi-channel technologies like DTS-ES, Alpine is
delivering the most advanced multi-channel solutions
on the market today.”
AlpineF#1Status products are designed to deliver
the best sound quality by overcoming the unique problems
of in-car sound reproduction with precision sound
field adjustment, sound image contouring and acoustical
correction. The technical development and detail-oriented
research for these ultra premium products, called
“Micro DynamicsÔ,” has established
a new platform for all of Alpine’s engineering
standards.
